I had to edit the original recipe I found as it needed more oatmeal to create structure to hold up as a burger patty.

Ingredients

  • Black Beans: 15 Oz.

  • Lentils, cooked: 1 Cup

  • Portobella Mushrooms: 16 Oz.

  • Chickpeas: 15 Oz.

  • Beet, cooked: 1 small

  • Oatmeal, raw: 4 Cups

  • Nutritional Yeast: 1/3 Cup

  • Tapioca Starch: 1 Tbsp.

  • Parsley: 1/4 Cup

  • Rosemary: 1/2 Tsp.

  • Salt: 1 tsp.

  • Pepper: 1/2 tsp.

  • Cayenne Pepper: 1/4 tsp.

Directions

  • Cook the lentils and then let sit to drain any excess liquid.
  • Drain your beans and let sit to remove any excess liquid.
  • Add ingredients to a food processor, but only half of the oatmeal, and blend well.
  • Fold in remaining oatmeal.
  • Form your burger patties and cook about 5 minutes per side.

Notes

  • Consider adding a pinch of marmite and teaspoon of liquid smoke.
